McCoy-Jones is an experienced policy advisor with over 15 years of policy and strategic planning experience specializing in Indigenous education in the provincial government. Working knowledge of government policy development processes and strategic planning within relevant legislations and regulations. Proven ability to establish positive working relationships with a broad variety of clients and demonstrated success in managing complex issues within short timelines. You can volunteer for one or more of the following shifts: 7 to 9 am - Set up materials and work stations 9 to 12:30 pm - Construction of beds 1 to 4:30 pm - Construction of beds 4:30 to 6 pm - Wrap up, storage and clean up You need to apply by May 27th. Building Bridges - Interfaith Coexistence and Harmony

Len Gierach is a member of the Board of Directors of the Edmonton Interfaith Society and the Rotary Club of Spruce Grove. Guy Blood is the President of the Interfaith Society. Len is a Rotarian from Parkland County. His classification area is marketing and sales and he owns a health and wellness business in partnership with his wife Heather. He has been a keen "interfaith educator activist" for 40+ years, is a lifetime member of the Edmonton Interfaith Centre, currently serves on the World Interfaith Harmony Week 2023 committee and the North American Interfaith Network as a board member.
This presentation includes a screening of a 14 minute video entitled “Building Bridges” that explores the diverse faith groups in Edmonton that work together despite their differences. Len and Guy would then follow up with a short verbal presentation and a Q and A session which they hope will focus on how our members can support the UN initiative with its focus on tolerance and acceptance of others.

Indigenous Tourism

This is the fifth presentation in our Indigenous Speaker Series. Keith Henry, CEO, Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada https://indigenoustourism.ca/ Mr. Keith Henry is a Métis person that was born in Thompson, Manitoba and raised in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Mr. Henry achieved a B.Ed. from the University of Saskatchewan in 1995. Mr. Henry has become an international Aboriginal cultural tourism leader receiving Aboriginal/Indigenous recognition as the former CEO for Aboriginal Tourism Association of British Columbia (AtBC). In April 2014 the inaugural World Indigenous Tourism Alliance award recognized the work of AtBC and Mr. Henry’s leadership. Mr. Henry has been spearheading the growth of authentic Aboriginal tourism in Canada as he worked to redevelop the national Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada as elected chair when this organization incorporated in April 2015. In October 2015 Mr. Henry took the full time role as the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada’s CEO. |

On February 1, 2019, Dale McFee was sworn in as Edmonton’s 23rd Chief of Police for the Edmonton Police Service. Chief McFee has an extensive background in policing , including 26 years as a police officer in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan (nine years as Chief of Police) and six years as the Deputy Minister of Corrections and Policing in the Ministry of Justice for the Saskatchewan government. From 2011 to 2014 he served as President and Past President of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police. He has previously held the positions of President of the Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police, President of the Saskatchewan Federation of Police Officers, and Director of the Canadian Police Association. Chief McFee has received several commendations in his areas of expertise, including the appointment and subsequent promotion by the Governor General of Canada to the Officer of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces. He is a recognized Governor General Leadership alumnus, former citizen of the year within his home community, and the recipient of a provincial policing leadership award for “Leadership in Multi-Agency Community Mobilization”. In addition to his extensive policing background, Dale has considerable experience managing small- to mid-size businesses, and has lectured nationally and internationally on the topics of leadership and change management in private and public sector organizations. Chief McFee speaks with first-hand knowledge and expertise about policing, community engagement, data and analytics, social finance and impact investing. He is a former member of Entrepreneurs International and served in the capacity of moderator for groups of business leaders within Saskatchewan. While going to school he participated in Cross Country Running, Alpine Ski Racing, and Sailboat Racing. Upon graduation from Ross Sheppard High School, Tom raced for the Canadian Sailing Team in the Tornado Catamaran Class, trying out for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Tom has also worked as a Sailing Instructor, Ski Resort Supervisor, and Restaurant Supervisor at a popular Edmonton restaurant. He completed a Management Studies diploma from Grant MacEwan before entering into Real Estate. Tom began to work as s Real Estate Agent in 2000 which allowed him settle down in Edmonton where he is now married and has three little girls and a son. He was a productive and award winning Agent and in 2012 he became the Manager of the Royal LePage Noralta Real Estate Edmonton office. In 2014 he took over ownership of the Brokerage. Tom has served as a volunteer with the Realtors Association of Edmonton, Alberta Real Estate Association, and the Real Estate Council of Alberta. He Chaired the Board of Directors for RAE in 2021. He still enjoys sailboat racing and goes out skiing whenever he can.

Milner Library is the flagship branch of the Edmonton Public Library. Ms McLellan is a Canadian academic and politician who served as the ninth deputy prime minister of Canada from 2003 to 2006. She was a cabinet minister in the Liberal governments of Jean Chrétien and Paul Martin, and represented Edmonton in the House of Commons of Canada. She also held the positions of Solicitor General, Minister of Health, and Minister of Justice of Canada. She serves as co-chair of the Coalition for a Better Future, a diverse group of over 130 organizations focusing on sustainable, inclusive economic growth. District Governor John Nicoll welcomes you to the Rotary Year 2022-2023
This year will be a year of recovery, transition, and renewal for Rotarians now free to gather, work and travel. Rotarians are re-experiencing the “Joy’ of meeting people in person.
The strength of your Rotary club is you and the association of like-minded people who enjoy each others company and want to serve their community. Our clubs reflect our diverse communities and welcome all to participate in fellowship and service. Above all, Rotary should be fun and enjoyable for all.
John Nicoll, born and raised in Edmonton, had a 43-year career as a Professional Engineer (Electrical), with positions with the Iron Ore Co. of Canada in Labrador, the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Public Schools, and the Province of Alberta. APEGA awarded him with a Fellow of the Engineers of Canada (FEC) for his volunteer work on the Practise Review Board and the Discipline Committee.
John became a Rotarian in 2009 and currently belongs to the Rotary Club of Edmonton Northeast. He has served as club president, committee member, assistant governor and now, district governor.
His hobbies include travelling, cabinetmaking, and photography.
Donna joined Rotary in 2006 and has served as club president for two years, club service director and committee member. A retired Home Economist, she managed programs in adult, general interest education. She is an avid gardener and prolific quilter. John and Donna have been married over 50 years and have two adult children and two grandchildren. Many trips to visit clubs will be via motorhome, gas prices permitting, to accommodate their little dog, Maggie.
