Orysia Boychuk is an accomplished Community Development Leader passionate about making change happen. With nine years of experience as the President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Local Branch and Provincial Council, she has been active in navigating the Ukrainian community in Alberta through some of the most challenging times, including Covid-19 as well as the Russian invasion in Ukraine.
With a 20+ year career as a Senior Human Resource Manager with the Federal and Provincial Governments, Orysia brings a comprehensive background with a focus on strategic planning and operational improvement. During this time, Orysia was recognized for engaging in diversity-focused recruiting practices and implementing innovative wellness strategies to increase employee engagement and satisfaction.
Orysia is a trusted leader and presenter, invited to facilitate Government Official Meetings and deliver presentations at Provincial and National Conferences. Orysia provides a unique perspective in all she does, partnering her Human Resource background with her desire to build community in order to deliver positive and exciting results.
Oleksandr Danyleiko is the Consul General of Ukraine in Edmonton. He has held extensive government roles in Ukraine such as Director of Department of Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and has also held a number of diplomatic positions including Toronto and Sweden.
Four years ago, a decision was made by Ukraine for Edmonton to establish a consul general office based on the large population of Ukrainians in Edmonton and its deep roots and strong connections to the Ukraine. It has been an honor for our community to receive Mr. Danyleinko, he has been an incredible asset supporting the Ukrainian community and Ukraine here in Edmonton. Alberta is the second largest receiver of displaced Ukrainians since the Russian invasion on Ukraine Feb. 24, 2022 and his role has been invaluable to Alberta.
Veronica Danyleiko is the daughter of the Consul General of Ukraine in Edmonton. She is 16 years old and came to Canada in 2019. Upon arrival to Canada she attended grade 6 and currently she is in grade 11. It is important to note that while attending school here in the Canada, she also attends school online in Ukraine. She is an active volunteer in our community here in Edmonton, and has become a member of the drama school "Dzherelo" at the Ukrainian National Federation Hall. Veronica has been invited to MC a number of community events the past few years and has also been a reporter on the Ukrainian TV program Alberta Kontakt. In her spare time she plays volleyball on the school team.
