Three Canadian Fighter Pilots of the First World War

Description:  This presentation will highlight three Canadian pilots of the First World War, who distinguished themselves in combat and in post-war careers and accomplishments in aviation.

Presenter:  John Chalmers is a retired educator with B.Ed. and M.Ed. degrees from the University of Alberta. His teaching experience includes junior and senior high school, college and university courses, and well as many years teaching adult evening extension classes for the school board and the U of A in public speaking and photography. John is a longtime aviation enthusiast, widely published as a writer of aviation stories. He is a member of the operations committee for Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame and served 10 years as the Hall's historian. During that time he researched, wrote about, and produced videos of 47 members who were inducted to the Hall. Most recently, he was one of the writers of the new book about the Alberta Aviation Museum, and in October was called upon to deliver a eulogy for his friend, Denny May, the son of famed bush pilot and aviator, Wop May.
