Fringing is for Everyone

The Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival is the largest, longest-running Fringe Theatre Festival in North America and one of the top five worldwide. Each year, we welcome more than 500,000 site visits and ignite more than $16 Million in local economic impact over the 11 days of our Festival. We welcome artists from across the street and around the globe to share their stories with engaged Edmonton audiences. 100% of ticket sales from the Festival go back to Artists. In 2023, we returned $1.2 million in ticket sales to Artists. The Festival is made possible thanks to the dedication and skill of 1,000+ Volunteers; 1,600+ local, national, and international Artists; and 200+ skilled arts workers. We drive the arts ecology here at home, across Canada, and around the world.

But more than that, Fringe Theatre is a safer space for brave ideas and big artistic risk. At Fringe Theatre, everyone is radically welcome. Our currency is kindness. We champion the dream of making it: making art, making community, making change, making memories.

From our free KidsFringe programming, to our Indigenous led pêhonân Series; from our harm-reduction informed approach to community empowerment through our Community Care program, to our ASL for Theatre workshops; from our Co-Fringer engaged Volunteer program to our art-based training platform that celebrates inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessible: Fringing is for everyone and everyone is fringing.
