Innovating the Health Sector
We are in a healthcare crisis in Canada. Our costs continue to rise and our outcomes are dropping with respect to other jurisdictions around the world. Interestingly we have a strong culture of developing innovative solutions and technologies being built in Alberta yet they are rarely adopted by the health system. We have an opportunity to transform our health system and drive economic development in region.
Reg Joseph is well regarded in the local health innovation community and brings a broad perspective of experience to the role. In his prior experience he served as an equities analyst for a Boston-based healthcare investment bank, an executive in residence at TEC Edmonton (a local incubator), a CEO for a local technology company Metabolomic Technologies Inc. and most recently as the VP of Health at Alberta Innovates. This broad perspective on many critical dimensions of our local eco-system is a critical asset in the foundational work that he will undertake for Health City.
Health Cities aims to improve the health of Canadians by delivering innovative healthcare solutions that can be scaled to grow the health sector nationally. It engages with clinicians, innovators, philanthropic organizations, industry and academia to address key health challenges
