Mental Health and Addictions
Dan Williams was sworn in as the Minister of Mental Health and Addiction on June 9, 2023. He was first elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Peace River on April 16, 2019 and was re-elected on May 29, 2023.
Throughout his first term as MLA, he served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Culture and for la Francophonie. He was also Deputy Government Whip and Chair of the Standing Committee on Private Bills, Deputy Chair of the Special Standing Committee on Members’ Services, Deputy Chair of the Select Special Ombudsman and Public Interest Commissioner Search Committee and a member of the Standing Committee on Privileges and Elections, Standing Orders and Printing and the Building Communities Cabinet Policy Committee.
Outside of work, Dan is an avid mountaineer who enjoys hiking, kayaking and camping. He has also found enjoyment in gardening alongside his wife. Dan, his wife Maureen and their son Ben live in La Crete.
