Rotarian Ron Coloumbe, Chair of the 2008 Rotary Dinner and Silent Auction themed "Downtown with a purpose" presented his final report on Thursday June 19. When Ron  Presented the Committee's ideas some months ago, they presented a socre card by which to measure the success believing that dollars raised should not be the only measure. What follows is that score card:

Report on Plan 2008

1.    Develop a Name Brand(complete)

2.    Develop Best Practices(complete)

3.    Implement a Sponsorship Plan which includes both cash contributions and offers employees year-round opportunities to get involved in projects that strengthen our Downtown. (complete with media sponsors: Edmonton Journal, Global TV and Corus Radio, creative sponsor Optamedia, print sponsor West Canadian and web site hosting by Keeran Systems. 4.    Develop an excellent web site presence to:

·       Support raffle ticket sales and auction item bids and

·       Recognize our sponsors.

Best Practices

·       The Gala raises funds ($130,000) to meet urgent needs in our city centre. (Actual $128,430)

·       A Gala Plan is approved by the Board each November. The plan outlines leadership, goals, strategies, timeline and budget. (complete)

·       Each Gala Team operates from a written plan. (complete)

·       The Gala has active participation from our Club with a goal of 3 Board members and 60 Rotarians. (Actual: 4 Board and 137 Rotarians)

·       Active participation is one or more of the following:

o      Chair or join a committee team (33)

o      Buy a table and invite Rotarians, family, friends and co-workers to join you (13)

o      Buy your dinner tickets and encourage others to join you (28)
