Julie Mulligan, the Rotarian from Drayton Valley, who was kidnapped in Nigeria gave a riveting presentation at the Rotary Club  of Edmonton on Monday, October 26. After being held in captivity and at gun point for 13 days it would be easy to hate her captors and and want to forget she had ever been there. Julie has the true Rotary spirit and has recognized a significant problem in Nigeria. An estimated one million women in Nigeria suffer from Obstetric Fistula the most devastating of all childbirth injuries. More information here. Julie has joined her fellow international Rotarians in fighting to overcome this debilitating condition. The Board of Directors have agreed to match contributions made by Rotary members on a 1 for 1 basis (up to $2,500) to support this cause. Please contact Bonnie with your contribution.
