RCE Sponsors Pro Coro Canada
The Vocational Service Committee of the Rotary Club of Edmonton has provided a grant of $5,000.00 to Pro Coro Canada to support their youth outreach program. As a result of the grant, a number of young men from Arch Bishop Jordan Catholic High School, Edmonton Youth Choir, Eschoir, Memorial Composite High School, Strathcona Chamber Choir, Sturgeon Composite High School, and the Grande Prairie Boys Choir will be joining the men from Pro Coro Canada on stage at the Winspear Centre for Music at 2:00 pm Sunday May 24th.
This program specifically targets young men who have a talent for singing. It has been noted by music teachers and choral instructors that it is a challenge to find male voices in community and church choirs, because at that age athletics often dominate. It was felt that if extra opportunity and instruction was provided to young men it may provide encouragement and reward by singing on stage at the Winspear.
