The speaker on Monday March 22 will be Dr. George Richardson. George is associate professor of social studies education and Associate Dean (International Initiatives) in the Faculty of Education. His areas of research include global citizenship education, the role of education on national identity formation, multicultural education and action research. He has international experience working with teachers in a Open Societies' Foundation program in Ukraine, with local and district school administrators, and Chinese academics in a CIDA-funded project in Western China, has recently been a co-instructor on a pre-service teacher course on global citizenship in Ghana and is currently involved in a UNESCO project working to upgrade the pedagogical and content area skills of teacher educators in Iraq.
