Don Lowry, President and CEO has led the transformation of EPCOR Utilities Inc. into a North American power and water company. Under his leadership, EPCOR has delivered on its plan to achieve sustained growth.

Over a 10-year period (1996-2006) EPCOR's revenues and employee count have doubled, and Shareholder book equity grew an average of 12.4% annually. In 2007 EPCOR increased its common dividend payment for the seventh consecutive year.

In 1996 EPCOR employees operated five power and water plants. Today the company owns and / or operates 3,400 megawatts of generation capacity, produced from 34 generating stations in Canada and the United States, as well as electrical transmission and distribution networks.

EPCOR also owns four, and operates 16 other, water treatment and distribution facilities in Alberta and British Columbia. Additionally, it operates 19 wastewater treatment and collection facilities in the same provinces.

Before joining EPCOR, Don spent more than 20 years in the telecommunications industry, helping to shape its evolution through key leadership roles. He was President and Chief Operating Officer of Telus Communications Inc. and Chairman of Alta Telecom. He has extensive experience in regulated and unregulated energy markets as well as in restructuring, regulatory matters, labour negotiations, start-ups, joint ventures and international business development.

Don graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1973 with a B.Comm. Honours followed by an MBA degree in 1976. He is a graduate of the Harvard Advanced Management Program and the Banff School of Management.

Don is Chairman of the EPCOR Power L.P. Board of Directors. He is also current Chair of the Canadian Electricity Association, and serves on several other Boards, including Canadian Oil Sands Trust, Alberta Climate Change Central, Alberta Economic Development Authority, and The Banff Centre
