Rotary Program October 18, 2010

Our guest speaker will be Gordon Sawyer, President of the Edmonton Rush.

- Native Albertan
- Born in Calgary, Alberta
- Lived in Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton. Doing his second tour of duty in Edmonton, AB.
- Started his formal career as a purchasing agent at Bruins Plumbing in 1975.
- moved to the Albertan Newspaper from 1977-1979.
- moved to Global mail for launch of national newspaper in 1980.
- moved to Rogers Cable as a marketing supervisor for the launch of Super Channel, First Choice and C  Channel in 1981.
- 1983 to 2009 - Returned to the newspaper business at the Calgary Sun where he held a number of positions over 26 years.
- 2009 - Retired from the Calgary Sun and in April 2009 became the President of the Edmonton Rush Lacrosse Club.
He has two daughters Chelsea and Kate of whom he is very proud.
