Former Rotary Exchange Student Liz Green (then Elizabeth Thomas) from Australia visited our Rotary Club on Monday. She and her husband are taking a six week tour of US and Canada. In speaking to club members she reflected how the experience has changed her life. She, in her words, was an immature 16 year old who had lived a very sheltered life in rural Australia. She returned to Australia a year later a more confident, independent and mature young lady. On her return she had found that her class had graduated, and a number of her friends were pregnant. This was not the path for her. She completed her grade 12, participated in public speaking finishing second at state level competitions. Liz has now graduated from University, and has been teaching for three years. Liz ended her comments by saying " I am who I am today because of my experiences here".

Thank you Liz for the update. It is nice to see the difference we are making to the young people who come to our Rotary Club in the Rotary Youth Exchange program.
