Note from the President
President's message
The winds are blowing a little colder and we're starting to batten down the hatches.  As it gets colder it becomes even nicer to come in from the cold on a Monday for a hot lunch (especially with underground parking and no snow to brush off our vehicles).  When we're not spending as much time outside we run the risk of losing connections with neighbors and friends and I encourage you to reach out over the winter, even just for a few minutes to check up on one another.
And with chilly temperatures, we know that our fall fundraiser is coming up!  Step Up to the Plate is being held on November 21st this year with Don Iveson as the keynote speaker.  Our former mayor is still very involved in fighting homelessness and addressing systemic issues of poverty.  As an ally, he has the potential to move the needle forward on concerns that we have been tackling in the downtown core.  I would encourage you to get your tickets early!
Our meetings continue to take on a bit of a different look with two meetings this month being held off-site.  We will continue to do these from time to time; they provide a different perspective and are well attended by our members and guests.  If there is somewhere you would like to hold a meeting please let me know.
In the meantime, pull out your scarves and mittens and stay toasty!  Hope to see you at a meeting soon.
Melinda Noyes, President

Rotary Club of Edmonton Annual General Meeting:  Monday, November 28
Curious about your club’s financial situation?  What about membership numbers?  What did we achieve last year anyways?
Like any well run organization, the Rotary Club of Edmonton’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the place to get answers to these questions and more.
The 2021-22 AGM will take place in lieu of the regular Monday, November 28 meeting at the Chateau Lacombe.  Past President Jim Saunderson and Treasurer Martin Connolly will present the club’s 2021-22 Financial Statements and a report on membership and activities.  Don’t miss this once annual opportunity to get caught up on these fundamentals and enjoy more Rotary fellowship.  Hope to see you there!

Rotarian in the news.... this time Del Dilkie was in the October edition of Womanition magazine.  Congratulations to Del for her success.
Update on our support for Ukraine Anna continues her Service above Self
As Anna would say:
“I only do what any Rotarian would do in such a situation, and I can only do it because of the support provided from Canada”.
An article for our Rotary district has been assembled reviewing Anna's response to:  What does Rotary mean to you? Why join a particular Rotary club?
