District Governor 5370 annual presentation
District Governor John Nicoll welcomes you to the Rotary Year 2022-2023
This year will be a year of recovery, transition, and renewal for Rotarians now free to gather, work and travel. Rotarians are re-experiencing the “Joy’ of meeting people in person.

The strength of your Rotary club is you and the association of like-minded people who enjoy each others company and want to serve their community.  Our clubs reflect our diverse communities and welcome all to participate in fellowship and service. Above all, Rotary should be fun and enjoyable for all.

John Nicoll, born and raised in Edmonton, had a 43-year career as a Professional Engineer (Electrical), with positions with the Iron Ore Co. of Canada in Labrador, the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Public Schools, and the Province of Alberta. APEGA awarded him with a Fellow of the Engineers of Canada (FEC) for his volunteer work on the Practise Review Board and the Discipline Committee.

John became a Rotarian in 2009 and currently belongs to the Rotary Club of Edmonton Northeast. He has served as club president, committee member, assistant governor and now, district governor.

His hobbies include travelling, cabinetmaking, and photography.

Donna joined Rotary in 2006 and has served as club president for two years, club service director and committee member. A retired Home Economist, she managed programs in adult, general interest education. She is an avid gardener and prolific quilter.  John and Donna have been married over 50 years and have two adult children and two grandchildren. Many trips to visit clubs will be via motorhome, gas prices permitting, to accommodate their little dog, Maggie.
